Hi Tim, Welcome Home Brother!  I'm sorry to inform you that Col. Pillerman died a few years back.  I too would have like to have met him, and discuss The Battle of Lo Go, from which out of the ashes, The Black Scarf Battalion was born.  One of the best cohesive fighting units in Viet Nam of The Big Red One of The First of The Second!

Because The Story of The Black Scarf Battalion has to be told, and that is what I'm going to do, is to write our story!  With the help of former Black Scarf members, I need their personnel accounts while serving in The Black Scarf's!  Those of us that wore The Black Scarf have earned the right to wear it with pride, dignity, honor, duty, sacrifice, and for The Love Of God and Country, of The First Infantry Division 1/2!

Good Luck Tim on finding your other buddies, I pray that they are still alive and well!  But remember one thing some don't want to be found!

Sincerely, Luther Patton! Black Scarf Bn. 1/2 Viet Nam 67-68, Delta Co. RTO, HHC Recon29er Platoon, RTO, Point man! NOLI ME TANGERE

Gene,  I served proudly with Bravo 1/2 after you left.. Sept of 68 until late Aug of 69... Thank you for making us Black Scarfs so famous... The enemy did not like making contact with us... During my time in-country we worked mostly up on the border finding and destroying NVA base camps with great success... Welcome home BROther... About 8 of us B 1/2 November Platoon are planning on making the BRO Division reunion at St Louis.

Welcome home Bravo and thanks, I am not sure as yet it I will be in St Louis at this time. It is not to far just across two states to get there. If I can make it I will see you. Gene

gene the travel across two states is a small price to pay !! the reward you'll get at the reunion is much more valueable trust me when i say nothing can or will replace the gain you get if ya go even if the only thing you get is a few beers in the c. p. you could do better!!

Am looking for anyone in Phuoc Vinh in March of 1966. My father Carl L. Resecker was injured there on Mar 13. Can't find much out about the place or about what happened. My mother said she was told it was a jeep accident involving a land mine, near the air strip. But that is all she really knows, my father never said much and now he is gone (12-27-02). So I have no one else to ask.

Lee Ann welcome to the board. If I may ask, what unit were you father with in 1966? Maybe if we knew some one can help you.

Take care

The Saint.

His last duty station listed on his DD214 is Co B 1st Bn 2d Inf APO SF96345. All his records state is jeep rollover. And he was sent to field hospital in Siagon, then tranferred to Valley Forge General Hospital, PA . He was there from March 66 until August of 66.

Thank you. I have been to several sites but this one I really kept coming back to.  Again, thank you. You don't know what this means to myself and 2 brothers to have someone help instead of trying on your own for the last 2 years for information.

Gene, I arrived in April 67 so I missed meeting you.  I was a platoon leader with B 1/2 and Mac has told me a lot of good things about you.  I hooked up with him on this site and we've been sharing a lot of emeories.  Regards.

Paul,

Welcome to the board.

I was with B Co. from Sep 67 until Jul 68. I was in the company HQs. Do you remember the HQs medic's name?
All I remember is "DOC" but that's what we called all medics.

Thanks
