William Weinberger, 2/2 1967-1969 passed away 12/16/12. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on 12/4/12....he died 12 days later. I have literally hundreds of pictures and letters from his period in the service. My primary objective at this point is to help reconnect others. Mellienme@att.net Mary Ann Weinberger

S0 sorry for your lost. I went to N.C.O. school at Ft .Benning with a William G. Weinberger did your husband go to N.C.O. school? If he did then we came into country together and along with 5 or 6 other guys from our class went to the 2/2. I went to Bravo company and lost contact with the others, though I was on the track right behind SSGT. Clark who gradated with us on the day he was killed.Again I'm very sorry for your loss.

Still looking for Richard Rousseau, Jim Baker, Steve Gerstner, Bill Hunter, Kelly Horne, Jim Barnes, Bill Hansen and Bill Dunn.  They served in 1967 and were all in A Co. 2nd/2nd, Mike Platoon.  Am also interested in locating Stretch Reineke and Dave Wallace.

John,

Just found 6 Steve Gerstners in 6 states on http://www.zabasearch.com Give it a try and make a few phone calls.  Others with more common names will be more difficult.

If you know their home towns, especially small ones, call the local paper, water dept, town hall (tax rolls).  Think OUTSIDE THE BOX.  Remember this old adage:  Here lie the bones of Ranger Jones A graduate of this institution. He died last night. In his first firefight. Using the School solution --BE FLEXIBLE

Thanks BCC, but wrong Kelly Horne (I think).  The Kelly Horne we are looking for lives in NC.  Now, he could have moved but it seems that, due to where all the family members live, this Kelly Horne lived his entire life in GA.

This is why home state is important, also age if you know it.  Let me know.

BYW.  You DID try zabasearch already, right???

I was at the Portland Swap meet this last Saturday. I stopped to admire a beautiful black 57 Chev Bel Air. The guy dusting the car off was wearing a V.N. Vet hat so I asked him who he was with. Turns out he was in the BRO. Then come to find out he was with A company 2/2. The gentleman's name is Will Carey, he was CO of A company during TET 68. I am sure many of you guys in A company remember him. His business email is will@griggsbros.com . He said since the war he has never met anyone from the 2/2. I told him of this website and hopefully he can connect.

Best regards to all my brothers, Steve

Ok guys another stab at it. See if this is the connection: will@griggbroc.com. I have his personal web address but am reluctant to publicize it now so I will email and ask Capt. Will before I put it up. The dude needs to be part of the family.

Yes I am back in the good ole USA. 3 years in Vung Tau was the best, and my 6 years in and around S.E. Asia was a wonderful experience but my family comes first so we are back in Oregon.  Ultimately the kid and my lovely wife can benefit from the wonders that only this blessed country we fought for can provide. We will be going back. I will get my rice paddy to shi* in and my Kabota. LOL

Best regards to all my brothers. Steve
