Juan,
Of course I am happy, but we still need to win the next game, then we'll think about the following seven. (A page from Belichick's mantra)

I have just been awaiting you to open another sports thread, as I opened the last one.

How does this sound:

Josh Beckett-----Cy Young

Dustin Pedroia (.317 BA)---- AL Rookie of the Year

and your buddy, Mike Lowell (.320 BA)---- AL MVP (His second career year in a row.)

Should be a hat trick for the Bosox this year.

Of course, the Pats are 5-0 playing 5-0 dallas this weekend. Bring on T.O.

Juan,

You must be smiling right along with me. Your OTHER bud, JB, turned in a FINE performance tonite, Bosox over the Mistake by the Lake 10-3. Definitly Cy Young material. Only 2 bad pitches all night, a gopher in the first and he hung a curve late, for a hit.

I had the TV to myself, as the better half consulted her first Pampered Chef show since she has been up here. Did really well. The hostess had 14 guests.

Only negative I have seen on the playoffs is the playcallers on the Sox Angels series. They didn't even get the players names right. Whattya expect from Ted Turner's TBS.

Yes sir JB put out a good show, he is getting better as he gets older.. Boston got a good deal when they made the trade. I say that the Bosox's will take the World Series on 5 games...

Now those Rockies are on a rampage, they are really playing baseball.

Juan,
I won'tquite go that far, as yet. Call me cautiously optimistic.
When you get down to the final four, any team could win it. As we saw Saturday, the Indians can be explosive, and the Sox failed to put them away when they had the chance. The Sox need to take two in Cleveland, and abck to the Fens with a 3-2 lead.

In the meantime, on that OTHER sport, the Patriots are the ONLY 6-0 team in the league. Peyton who??????? 2 trap games coming up then Indy.

Yes you got it, however the Bosox's are very strong and have a good pitching staff--I go on that.

Well, pitching has been and is, the key. The Sox knew they had to lay off the sinker last nite, and didn't. Wake goes tonight, with 3 weeks rest. Let's hope his flutterball flutters. Possibility of rain, so humidity should be high, which helps.

At least the balls and strikes calling is consistent. If the pitch is 6 inches off the right side of the plate, its called a strike, no matter who is up. Definitely a large strike zone.

Beckett is next, Thursday.

We believe!!

Back to back to back is exciting, but we have to keep the line moving. Crisp and Lugo have to start bunting for hits, mental errors must be eliminated, and Sox MUST go back to he old ways, waiting for the good pitch. Beckett needs a stellar performance.

Dare we hope???

Well, Lugo did bunt for a hit, Beckett DID turn in a STELLAR performance, the Sox went after fewer bad pitches and they came out on top/ I have confifence in Schill on Saturday, but much less in Daisuke (Dice K) after. Too long a season for him. If Bucholz is on the roster, I would start him in seven.

Remember this: No lead is safe, for either team. Ellsbury will probably start in CF.

Sergio,
If the Rockies come to Boston, the left field wall will be an intimidating factor. None of that rarified air, either.

JS,
Looks like the Indians "Drew" the short straw last night, and Youkilis really used his head.

The Pats set the stage today in Miami, with brady throwing for 6, and Boston College Eagles either 3 or 2 in the NCAA rankings.

If Matsuzaka throws 6 strong innings and the Sox bats stay hot, it could be a great sports weekend in the area. The only losers in the area are the moose. Season started Saturday!!!

In Albuequerque for weekend - great weather;  saw that the Sox won two.  Rocktober continues Wednesday.

For anyone interested, the local post office philatelic branch is planning a commemorative cacheted cover for the World Champion Colorado Rockies.  Look for it to go on sale at the end of the 4th game, Green Monsters notwithstanding!!!  Further information to follow.  Go Rockies.

JS, From what I hear, the Rockies are on ice. That cachet cover will be a real collectors item. We shall see how it plays out. All the Sox are healthy, the bats are hot, Even Kevin Millar, now of the O's, is rooting for them. Stephen King, ever present at Fenway, will not get a horror story out of this one. The curse is reversed. We Believe.
BTW The month is "Soxtober"

The Rockies have to play hard baseball if they want to win--not like those Yank's and they lost --Hoooaahh
