In the meantime, the red Sox moved up to one game back of the Rays, and head into Tampa today for a 3 game series. Still about 5 1/2 up in the wild card.

In that other sport, The Pats beat Favre and the Jets 19-10, starting Matt Cassell in his FIRST start since High School, as Tom Brady is out for the season with ACL and MCL troubles. Surgery in 4-6 weeks, rehab 6-9 months. If the Pats offensive line holds , Cassell should have a good year, aswill the Pats, who now have 21 consecutive regular season wins!!!

Juan,
At least your formar boss is happy. John Henry's Sox win 5-4 over the Tribe. Wakefield gets the win, Papelbon gets the save, and,,,,breaking news......Papelbon stole three bases tonight.......all during the post game celebration...then gave them to fans in the stands. The celebration is ongoing.

Looks like the Red Sox and the Angels in the first round. Pedroia got his 207th and 208th hit for the season. Only 2 Red Sox heve hit 200 in a season. Wade Boggs, and Tris Speaker, back in 1912. Two more and he has the team record.

......well I love that dirty water.....

We're still 2 games out with 3 to play. If we sweep NY and the Rays lose 3, we take the AL East. If not, we are still the wild card, and go head to head against your Angels. We are still trying to get a healthy team. Looks like the Red Sox West are in the playoffs too. Derek Lowe, Nomar, Manny, all boys in Dodger Blue.

In a game that matters not, Yanks are drubbing Red Sox 19-5 Now bottom of the 9th. 5 1/2 hours from scheduled start time. Rain delays of two hours brings us here.

Onthe voting thing. I think I know who most on this board want to win. All I will say, is don't sit on your fat apathy on November 4. Get all your buds who feel the same way and MAKE SURE YOU and THEY VOTE!!! This is maybe the most important election of our lives, and we cannot afford for the wrong democrat to get in.

Mike,
You will probably be facing Jon Lester in the opener. Cancer survivor, no hitter in his 2nd major league start. 9-2 at home, 9-0 on the road. Then, probably Dice-K, though he is more likely to open in Boston. Beckett has an oblique issue, so rotation is a bit yup in the air. We'll know more after 4 PM edt today.

Mike O. Youmust have a feeling of bewilderment right now, after the great season the Angels had. Goes to show you that when two class teams meet, anything can happen, and that makes for GREAT baseball. I do predict that the series MVP's first name will begin with the letter "J". Think about it. Josh Beckett, Jonathan Papelbon, J D Drew, jacoby Ellsbury,Justin Masterson, Jason Varitek, Jed Lowrie, Jason Bay, Jon Lester. )Just an oddity I noticed this year.)

Well, on to Boston on Sunday.

  BCC,
It's not even a real shocker for me, for some reason the Angel's power hitters are in a slump, they have'nt hit a home run in 20 innings, watch out though because as everyone's already witnessed the explosiveness of the Angel's, with this double loss it might just be what they need for another syched up winning streak! I gotta admit i'm not to happy with the turn out at this point, I really don't think Soscia's going to let the team go out so easy after such a long hard fight all season, Sunday's game, along with a couple of cold one's and my rally monkey in hand-WHOOOA!!!
Let's also remember who's got the best out of town record for wins this season!!! L.A.Angel's!!! May the BEST MAN WIN
