Reply with quote | #26 | Luv it!! Looks like we all can't wait - including the computer company that can't sell tickets here in Denver!!!!
Saint - not counting my chickens too early. Just relying on Manny and the other Bosox outfielders to exhaust themselves in not being able to find their way through all the acreage in the Coors outfield occupied by the Buffalo herds in the 34rd and 4th games. As to Fenway, it's the perfect size to really inflate the Rockies defensive statistics!!!!!
By the way, the Post office cachets will probably sell in the $5 - $7 range.
Enjoy the game all. Looking forward to a great pitching match-up, and we all can expect the big inning to hit around 7 pm MST, (that's 9 pm EST for you down easters). After which we can all sit up for a tense pitcher's duel between two bull pens.

BCC, that is a good picture of Mr. Conigliero.

Those cachets will now go on sale after game # 6.
Go Rockies!!! Enjoy Saturday's game - weather forecast is that it won't be snowing!

Your young starter, Jimenez, has a lot of games in front of him. He's going to be areally good one, with age and experience. We may knock each others team, but in good fun. Be happy your team made it to the big show, no matter who wins it all.
In my lifetime (born in 46) the Sox made it to the Series a total of 4 times before they won it in 2004, after an 86 year drought. I was there when Gibson (4 days rest) beat Lonborg (3 days rest) in game 7 in '67. Heartbreak. (I was on the West Coast during the times of Bucky "f***ing" Dent and Bill Buckner, again mucho heartbreak.)
Looking for a good game 3 in mile high. |

Reply with quote | #36 | Let's see - the Sawx are leading 6 - 0 after the 4th, and the Rox's can't get out of the headlights!!! That'll happen in the ninth inning.
Did I tell you that the Rox's savior tomorrow will be a pitcher who hasn't pitched a game in 2 months!! Aaron Cook's his name - and he's going to demolish the Red Sox hitters???!!!!$$$$&&&& He's had plenty of rest!
After that only three games to go. The cachets will now be sold after the seventh game.
Go Rockies.

Reply with quote | #37 | I am writing after the final, 10-5. One game at a time. OUR pitcher Sunday is a young kid named Jon Lester. Last year at this time he was undergoing chemo therapy to save his life from Cancer. With the grace of God, it worked.
Congratulations to the Rockies for such a strong finish, to get into the World Series. I am glad the team and its fans have had the experience. Let's see what happens tonight. |

Glad to see you finally rolled out of bed this morning. LOL These late games play havoc with our beauty sleep. (as if anything could help. LOL)
If you have NESN on your TV, they do the interviews and press conferences 1 hour prior to FOX broad cast, and immediately after Fox leavesthe field, post game. Rice, Eckersley, RemDawg etc.
I was up til way after 1 AM. Now its Pats and Skins at 4, Sox and Rocks at 8. BTW BCis still undefeated, 8-0, beating VA Tech 14-10. Is a BCS championship game in the cards???? |

Reply with quote | #45 | Sergio,
Consider this. The Rockies had 20 MUST win games out of their last 21, just to get there/ Had they lost just one of them, no playoff with the Padres. They did one hell of a job, and deserve real credit for their season.
At no time, in any game, did I feel the win was a lock until the last out was made. Great season for the Rockies.
Now I am going to relax in the warmth of only the second RS championship in my lifetime. |

Reply with quote | #46 | Agreed on their great finish to reach the World Series. But not much to consider beyond that from either the TV perspective or those that were in attendance (according to those I've talked with). As to the Rox repeating soon, I don't think so; all season it was win one, lose one (except for a mid season 6 game win streak); until the streak - just pure luck - plain and simple, with some awfully good playing, hitting and pitching!!!! Tulo, Francis, Holliday, Corpas, maybe Jimenez and maybe Morales have great futures in front of them; Seth Smith too - maybe.
It dosen't look like my Yankees are going to be close to ready to overtake the BoSox for a couple of years; but Girardi will be a GREAT manager. He was a great leader here with the Rox, and as a clubhouse leader with the Yanks; and as a manager with whichever Florida team it was. He'll sparkle in N.Y., eventually. Say Francona is the humble type isn't he!!!! Looks to me like a great manager behind a calm facade.
As to my other team, i.e. the Mets - if they keep Willie, they'll be okay for next year, never mind the late swoon!!! Four years ago, I had my copy of the N.Y. Daily News' edition of the Amazin's 1969 World Series triumph, mounted and framed in a double sided frame and presented to the high school baseball coach of my sons. He absolutely loved it. My mother had saved it for me. One of the hardest things I ever had to give away. After following the Amazin's for 8 years, I'm in Vietnam when they took it all. I couldn't believe it that I never saw one of their games.
Go Rockies!

Uf you don't have his number, let me know and I will email it.
