Here we go again. Th World Champion Red Sox threw Jish Beckett into the fray tonight, and he went 8 strong innings with 105 pitches. Sox win, lead season sries with NYY 3-2.
He looked good, Juan. Mikey Lowell still on the DL with a thumb sprain. OH!!! And Manny hit 494 and 495, both off Mussina. His 4th AB, the 1st pitch was a fastball behind his head. No retaliation, but it WILL come. |

Two years ago, he was diagnosed with the big C, a devastating development for a young ballplayer. Last year, after treatment and rehabilitation and a lot of prayers, he was the clinching pitcher of record in game four of the World series. Tonight Jon Lester threw a No Hitter against KC, the 1st Red Sox LHP no hitter at Fenway since Mel Parnell in 1956.

Mike Lowell had groin cancer too around 1998, when he was with the Marlins, after the operation he was in rehab at the minor league farm here in Brevard county in Fl, where I was working--he and I spend lot of time in the field.....

Why the tunnel? They already have a hole they dug, under the dugout, to dig out Big Papi's shirt. They could all climb in there. Many from Red Sox nation would be happy to shovel in the dirt.

There is another team the Mets, they have problems in the Clubhouse-- they too need to get in a hole... Their manager is very hard to get alone with...

In the meantime, the Bosox keep plodding along, with a dramatic 13th inning walkoff HR by Kevin Youkilis (his 2nd of the day)
Bosox continue to lead the AL East. All without Schilling for the year, and another 10-14 days before Big Papi is due back at DH, and the best home record in BB. As the song says, "Please come to Boston......" |

Well, we had a bunch of trouble with the TB Rays (bullpen implosion) but we dropprd the Yanks tonight, 7-0, first time we shut them out since April 2004. Jon Lester went the distance.

The Florida fish couldn't keep a 9 run lead on the Colorado Rockies - but they got to see the July 4th fireworks at Coors another way as well - following their 18-17 loss.
Only need to win 16 straight to overtake the D'Backs, and then its the BOSOX or any other pretenders to the World Series throne in October (forget last year's melt down!!!!)
