I met the RTO for LTC. Simpson at Kokomo In. this year. I'm one of the ones that carried the 292 antennas.

Thanks Jerry, LTC Simpson flew in with his two RTO's from the field the day that The Boys Of Delta Company arrived in Viet Nam.  LTC Simpson gave us a short Orientation of what our mission would be during our tour. And told us about The Black Scarf Battalion while newly made Black Scarf's were being passed out to us.  What an inspiration that was to each and everyone of us on that day we became a Black Scarf Member, of The First Of The Second of The Big Red One.
His words instilled in each and everyone of us great pride to not only be proud to wear The Big Red One Patch but the Black Scarf as well.
Respectfully, Luther Patton

If I got on the floor to attempt a push up, I probably would be stuck on the floor for an hour trying to get up.

You'd be surprised Jon. We've a few 'KIDS' in the Association - Colin Fitts, Dave Bellavia, and Manny Melendez come to mind. But there are a few others who served in Bosnia.

Of course some of the Viet Vets act more like kids then anyone else. Age will do that to ya. Funny though all the WWII vets seem in top form, but a bunch of us Viet guy seem a little wacky! I guess that's what you get for hanging out with Juan and Goodaim.

Jon, you need to be careful--with those guy's--they will try to sale you the world for $1.33----one of them is My brother John Kerins and the other one is a guy by the name of Goodaim--Now there is a medic out there from the state of Iowa that carries latex gloves in his back pocket-----..
Welcome aboard we are a great group of old soldiers some ugly and some good looking like me. The pictures are of me and my wife, also a friend of ours. That is when I got the Order of St Maurice at Ft Benning, GA.

Try to make the reunion this coming May at Pigeon Forge, TN.

id feel a bit outa place at the reunion. i know we all were in the same unit and all but different conflicts and "bosnia" seems so insignificant compared to WWII and Vietnam. To me its the "thing" that ppl didnt care about xcept the ones who paid attention to the political hot spots of the world.
but where is the reunion going to be at in Pigeon forge?

Jon,
Don't you even THINK about feeling out of place. When two Ramrods get together, it is family, period!!

We Viet vets were duly represented during Bosnia and Kosovo times. K-FOR HQ, Camp Bondsteel, was named for one of our own, James Leroy Bondsteel, A, 2/2 (Mech), MoH May 1969.

Welcome!!!!

Jon, welcome to the board and believe me when I say your time with the 2nd Inf. is every bit as important as anyone else. I always like to give new posters a warning about some of the dudes that post here.

People to beware of:
Duck, shot in the ass by a good friend
Juan, lifer but a real keeper with a damn fine wife
BCC, can usually be trusted and has a great sense of humor (true love in life is shoveling snow)
Luther, well Luther is just Luther but has a great Chopper
John Kerins, can't be trusted at all
pete, always types his posts in lower case letters and definitely never pays his debts.
Lorrie Darlin, can always be trusted (besides shes hot).
O.O.O. Is related to Jack Made-Off so stay away from his Saffron scams.

Now all of what I say you can take to the bank, speaking of money if you would like to donate to an old 2nd Inf. veteran just make your check out and mail it to the following address.

Dah Joint
Cell No. 133
Witness Protection Program
Somewhere In America.

Just make that check to the G.N.M.F. its tax deductible.

Goodaim

Welcome Home and welcome to the board.
