Yesterday I received an Email from a total stranger who asked if I could find any one that knew a particular Veteran from the 1/2 in 1969. He said that he had seen a blark scarf on this man's wall in his work shop.
Do we have any "rules" regarding answering such requests? Thanx

Bill, if I am you I will asked this guy to ID himself, and if he had seen the black scarf on the wall, to come out with a name.
Also if he have serve in the military.
You can forward the mail to me and I will ask him.

Forward the request to me and I will see if I can help this guy find his buddy. I sent you and email with more info in it.
We do have a roster with over 800 names on it and a procedure for helping buddies locate each other.

Bill,
I have sent an email to Mr. Blackwell, "your mystery man" and offered to help him look for his friends buddies. It is apparent from the email he sent you that he got your contact info from the message board. He evidently read one of your posts, clicked on your name, and the email was sent to you without revealing your email address to him. I will post here when I receive a reply from him. This appears to be legitimate request from a former military man (US Air Force) who is looking to help a friend reconnect with some of his Vietnam buddies.
I requested that he talk to his friend to make sure he wants to reconnect before we proceed. Once I get an affirmative reply I will post the "Black Scarf's" name on this thread.
