Good morning everyone. Checking in from Beautiful Smith Mountain Lake Virginia. All is well on the eastern seaboard. Hot but not as hot as was Southeast Asia back in the day.

God Bless.

Patton checking in from Hot Okie Country.  I pray that everyone is staying cool and doing OK!  One thing is for sure when i read the Farmer's Almanac last Spring, it read to have plenty of sunscreen on hand for it is going to be one of the hottest summer's in along time. And boy was it ever more truer.
Take care Brother's.

Good morning to all in the 2nd. As usual this time of the year it's hot in SW Iowa, but today and for the last 7-8 days we have been in the 100's + and with the humidity it's HOT! Checking in for the first time in a while, so wanted all to know that I'm still around. Hope all my BRO'S are well and fit and hopefully no body has been struck with the floods in the Midwest or heat.
Take care and may God Bless

Hey Luther I will trade you a few rain drops for some continuous rays of hot sun...just think about the monsoon and Song Be, that should cool you off and your jungle combat boots getting stuck in all that mud in the NDP..I want some summer sun to go swimmingthen get out of the water to drink a nice cold beer and I mean cold..just rubbing the cold beer bottle all over the body, then just wade in the water up to the waste...sounds good.....I'llbe singing like Nat King Cole about those Lazy Crazy Days of summer and I will not forget about the pretzels and beer either...Have A Very Nice Day In The Sun...take care and do not forget the Sun Screen Lotion.....Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head,la, la, la, la,......

Hi Curtis,
I would be more than happy to send you all of the sunshine  you could possibly use, for some rain.
As far as cold beer, I always have frozen mugs in the freezer for a good cold one in this heat. Its the coldest beer in T-Town!!
As far as Song Be, I was there in Dec. of 67 and it was hot, then before we came back To The World we were there in May, and June and that was the beginning of the Monsoon, and boy did it rain... but hells bells you already knew that. LOL
The weather man here in OKIE COUNTRY said that this High Pressure system that has been hovering over the midwest is moving toward the west which will allow the cool fronts to come down from the North, Northwest, having said that! Next week we will be cooling off a bit I sure hope so. Praying for lots of rain as well.
What part of our great country do you live?
You could always move to OKIE COUNTRY LOL.

Hello from Ventura California, a couple months back I joined the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 982, I attended the annual BBQ in Santa Maria CA. two weeks ago, we had 1000 people show up.
I found time to read THEY MARCHED INTO SUNLIGHT, a very good book about the 2/28th Black Lions, and the battle of Ong Thanh, Oct 17th 1967. I remember sitting in the 10M track monitoring the radios at Caisson 111N when the battle broke out. I have also learned that Tom Hanks has a movie in the works due out in 2013. Now I'm reading THE BEAST WAS OUT THERE, a more detalied book by Gen. Jim Shelton, then Maj. Shelton of the 2/28th.
Take care till next time, Jimmy Jones

I think Shelton's book is much better.  I read them both several years ago.  General Shelton is usually at the Society of the First Division reunions.  I have visited with him several times in the 28th CP.  He is a nice guy to sit and chat with.

I was also out there with 2/2 that day, listening to the attack on the radio and helping hump artillery ammo.  Very sad day!

checking in from yukon, ok. we got a nice rain last night, cooled things down a bit. took a little road trip this morning on the old bike. went to one of the local casino's (firelake casino) it's by shawnee ok. they had a big poker tourn. sponsored by mda. former ou football player brian bosworth was there playing in the tourney. my buddy played in the tourney, he didn't last long. hey luther!, bosworth is supposedly have a custom bike done here in yukon by a local mc shop.

Harold, I'm sure that the Boz has a nice custom chopper.  I would like to see it.
I was out last night here in T-Town on my chopper, and a couple of girls were up from Texas at one of our hangouts and they wanted to have a photo shoot with one of the girls on my chopper. Which I let them.
Was at another hangout that had a really good blue's band Steve Pryor. Then a big surprise, a few of the Mongols showed up, but everyone was cool. No Sweat!
Love the rain, but we need a whole lot more.

luther,

i am sure the bike is nice, the place that it is supposadly being bilt, is about
a half a mile from my house here in yukon. it is called 'the shop'. did an oil change and a new tire on my bike after i got back from d.c. in 08. the guy that owns the place is a fireman(captain) here in yukon. they do some good customs. i wish i had the money to have them do a little customizing on my bike, but it's a little out of my price range. if i get a chance i will check and see if i can see bozworth's bike. i agree about the rain, just need more.

Beeman present and accounted for. We missed the Hurricane weather but an earthquake stopped by for a couple minutes. The strange thing is - WE DON'T HAVE EARTHQUAKES here at beautiful Smith Mountain Lake Virginia. I was in a department store checking out when it hit, the building shook and things started to rattle so I looked at the clerk and said "Looks like your roof top air handler is acting up". Haha, never been through a quake before so this was all I could think of -or- maybe a Helicopter with rotor chop, haha.

I trust all is well with the BROthers. God bless and have a great September.

It will get up to 98 degree today but is 70 in the house (where I intend to stay).  I am baby sitting all three of my dogs (two Lhasas and a Shih Tzu) as my wife is attending to the death of her mom in Oregon.  Hope everyone is doing well today!
